Dr Jörn Peter Grundmann

Dr Jörn Peter Grundmann studied sinology and classical Chinese literature in Bonn and Taipei. In 2019 he received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Edinburgh. He is currently working as a research associate in a post-doctoral position at Jao-Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, Hong Kong Baptist University. His research interests essentially include the philological exploration of the Confucian classics and the early Chinese history of ideas and concepts. He has recently rediscovered his original interest in contemporary sinophone literature and is currently working with Kathrin Bode on translating modern Hong Kong short stories into German. His first literary translations, four episodes from Dorothy Tse's "Stadt im Wandel des Verflossenen", appeared in Hefte für Ostasiatische Literatur.
