We Will Present Different Formats
There will be sessions focusing on professional exchange as well as on interesting organisations offering services and opportunities to translators from the German language. We will invite renowned German-speaking authors and, of course, translating colleagues who have translated their works into languages of the Asia Pacific region. We’ll do some trainings and also integrate title pitching sessions. However, networking is king, and we’ll make sure we have sufficient time for that in each session.

Frankurter Buchmesse in 2023 took place for the 75th time! From 18 - 22 October publishers, authors, translators and visitors from all over the world got together and delved into the world of books.
Meet and greet with us Pernille Starck, in charge of organising the Frankfurt International Translators programme (FIT), Maria Garbutt-Lucero, co-founder of East & Southeast Asian Publishing Network, ESEA, and Annette Hug, author and translator from Zurich.
We will visit the International Stage, the International Translation Centre as well as the Guest of Honour pavillion that offers an insight into Slowenian literature.

What is special about this year's edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair that took place from 19 - 23 October 2022: According the motto “Translate. Transfer. Transform.” Frankfurt Book Fair 2022 focuses on the subject of translation.
During our visit to the fair, we meet, among others, the co-organizers of the translation center Annette Kopetzki and Karin Betz, the award winner of the Übersetzerbarke Sabine Baumann or representatives of publishing houses from Singapore and Indonesia. Our interviews and talks were conducted in German or in English.
Organisations
Organisations like Goethe-Institut, Frankfurter Buchmesse, Literarisches Colloquium Berlin and several others offer special services and funding programmes that support translation projects from the German language. Representatives of different organisations will inform about their respective tailor-made assistance, funding programmes and services for translators and publishers in the region.

Trainings
In each training session a certain skill relevant to translators will be trained, i.e. how to write proposals that get accepted, how to pitch the book you want to translate to publishers, how to market yourself and many more.

The focus of our digital exchange forums lies on networking opportunities, best practices and a lively exchange beyond the meetings.
