Piyakal Sinprasert was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, majoring in German, and her master’s in German Literature from University of Constance. She worked as an interpreter in Berlin for an organisation for migrant women for 2 years. Her work experience is extensive, ranging from university lecturer for German language and literature, to study counsellor and project coordinator, mainly on youth projects, for civil society organisations.
Piyakal is currently a freelance literary translator and a literature and language teacher (German and Thai). Her topic of interest is intercultural communications.
