Etty Prihantini Theresia

Etty Prihantini Theresia was born in Central Java, Indonesia.  After a couple of years living in the US and Yemen, she has moved to Germany and has been living in Frankfurt am Main since 2011.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Southeast Asian Studies at Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Besides teaching English and Indonesian as second and foreign languages since 1999, she has worked as a translator and interpreter in humanitarian settings, mainly in language pair Indonesian-English-Indonesian. 
She is the founder and content creator of Wortschatz Book Club, a Youtube channel focusing on reading aloud Indonesian children books to bilingual families speaking Indonesian and German, along with an Instagram account under the same name, through which she joins various literacy activities and networks.

Co-translating Kroewel by Dimaz Sadewa and Menunggu Hujan by Dito Satrio from Indonesian into German, both published as part of a special project for the presence of Indonesia as Guest of Honor, Frankfurt Book Fair 2015.
