Gulnoz Nabieva, born on June 4, 1981 in Samarkand, studied German and English at the Samarkand University for Foreign Languages and at the National Mirzo Ulugbek University of Uzbekistan. So far, she has translated a number of short stories by Rafik Shami, Matthias Nawrat, Saša Stanišić, Shida Bazyarand Jo Lendle. She also translated the novels “Der Weltensammler” by Ilija Trojanow and “Hier ist noch alles möglich” by Gianna Molinari into Uzbek. She also translated poetry by Paul Celan and Jan Wagner. She currently works at the Goethe Institute Uzbekistan and lives in Tashkent.
