Lenny Kaye Bugayong

Lenny Kaye Bugayong was born in Zurich. She holds a degree in German language teaching and English Literature & Linguistics (M.A.) from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). From 1999 onwards, she has been a teacher of Tagalog (a.k.a. «Filipino», an official language in the Philippines), for which she has published her own textbook and also works as an accredited court interpreter and translator in Switzerland. 
Furthermore, she is a certified Technical Writer and has authored and co-edited various publications in English and German.
Her experience in translation has so far mainly centered around legal texts (Tagalog, German and English), though she recently also completed translation assignments for museums as well as parts of the graphic novel On the other end by Sheree Domingo. 
After nearly a decade of working in the field of quality management for public service interpreting, she is currently a lecturer for Applied Linguistics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and completing her PhD on Interpreting in the Swiss asylum procedure. As president of the association studiyo filipino, she maintains close ties to the Filipino community worldwide and stays informed regarding Philippine issues.
