Anya Malhotra

Anya Malhotra was fortunate to grow up trilingually, speaking English, German and Hindi. After her undergraduate studies in English literature she went on to earn a Master's degree in German translation and interpretation, studying in India and Germany. She has since been working as a freelance translator and conference interpreter and lives in Delhi.
Anya has translated short stories, young adult literature, essays and poems of German-language writers, such as Anja Utler, Anne-Marie Kenessey, Boris Pfeiffer, Markus Kirchhofer, Martin Mosebach. She also translates non-fiction in areas ranging from politics, sociology to environmental studies.
She was a participant at the Long Night of Literature event in Delhi in 2016 and a fellow of the Frankfurt International Translators programme in 2019.
