Fuminari Niimoto

Fuminari Niimoto is Professor of German Studies at Meiji University in Tokyo. His research activities range from Heinrich von Kleist to Swiss literature and the transnational literature of German-Hungarian translator-authors. He translated many German literary works into the Japanese language and has received several awards for his translation works, he was awarded the Literarische Auszeichnungen des Kantons Bern (2013, with J. Halter, S. Tanigawa, E. Klopfenstein and O. Okuda), the Merck-Kakehashi Literaturpreis (2016, with Ilma Rakusa), and a Carl-Holenstein grant (2019).
