Hendarto Setiadi has been working as a freelance translator in the language pairs German-Indonesian and English-Indonesian since 1986. He was born born in Germany and grew up bilingual, which is in itself a big advantage and for his job as translator. So far he has received a translation grant from the Goethe-Institut several times and has twice participated in the Social Translating Project organised by the Goethe-Institut Seoul. With his family Hendarto lives in Bogor near the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
