Sabine Müller

Sabine Müller is a freelance translator (Indonesian and English) and an editor for various online and print media. After studying Ethnology, Malaiology and Sociology at the University of Cologne (M.A.), she completed additional studies in German as a Foreign Language at Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. Sabine spent several years in Indonesia, first during one year of studies at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, later during five years working as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Cimahi, West Java, and as a project coordinator at the Goethe-Institut in Bandung and Jakarta.
She is a member of the association of German literary translators (VDÜ), Weltlesebühne and Literaturszene Köln. Together with other translators as well as project-related in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and Frankfurt Book Fair, she is committed to making translational activities and (Indonesian) literature more visible. Her translations from Indonesian into German include novels, short stories, theatre plays and poetry.
