The alumnus of the department of German Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, is working as a lecturer for German at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, in West Bengal, since 1990. He participated in several translation projects. He translates literary works from German into English and Bengali, from English into Bengali and from Bengali into English. Currently (2021/22), he is working on a Bengali translation of Ronya Othmann’s novel Die Sommer.
