About the Book:
It's often good to be alone, and there are quite a few things you can do alone: sit in a tree and look around, read, make noise or stand on one leg. But no matter how many times you try, you can't tickle yourself. It just doesn't work!
And there is something much more beautiful that you can't do alone either. And for that the children even forget about tickling ... 

About the Authors:
Heinz Janisch was born in 1960 in Güssing in Burgenland. He studied German and journalism in Vienna. Since 1982 he has worked as a freelancer for ORF radio, designing and presenting radio programmes. He writes both children's books and books for adults. Heinz Janisch has received several literary prizes, including the Austrian State Prize for Children's Poetry 2005, the Austrian Art Prize for Children's and Youth Literature 2018 and the Grand Prize of the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature 2020.

Helga Bansch was born in 1957 in Leoben, Styria. After graduating from high school, she attended the Pedagogical Academy in Graz, where she trained as an elementary school teacher. From 1978 she worked as an elementary school teacher in Weixelbaum in southern Styria. As part of her training as a life and social counsellor, she worked with children with behavioural problems and discovered painting as a means of expression. Since then she has been painting pictures with acrylic on cardboard or canvas, illustrating children's books, making dolls, puppets and objects from sandstone, clay and papier-mâché. She lives and works in Vienna.
