Philipp Diepmans grew up in Oberhausen and started learning languages at an early age. Before beginning his tertiary studies, he spent two years in Brazil and Norway to further his language learning. While studying Nordic Philology, Portuguese and Public Law in Kiel and Ghent, he also worked at the German Embassy in Mozambique and at the Goethe Institute in Porto.
After his studies, he first worked as a project manager for Bertelsmann/Microsoft and switched to freelancing in 2017. He translates from Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Portuguese into German and since 2020 has increasingly been working in the field of audio-visual translation, focusing on dubbing, voice-over and more recently, audio description.
