Christina M. Udiani

Christina M. Udiani was born in Batu, East Java. She completed her bachelor studies in Management at Brawijaya University, Malang, in 1994. In 2009, she received a Master of Arts degree in Sociology at the University of Pune, India, with a scholarship from the Indian government (ICCR). Currently she lives in Jakarta and works as senior editor at Kepustakaan Populer Gramedia (KPG), one of the publishers under the umbrella of Kompas Gramedia which focuses on publications in the field of popular science and humanities. Authors of several books she edited have achieved various awards or nominations, including Kusala Katulistiwa award and Badan Bahasa award. In addition to editing fiction and non-fiction books, she also writes comments and reviews for the daily newspaper Kompas and other media and has translated several books into Indonesian. The book she wrote in collaboration with Risa Mutia entitled Songket Minangkabau: The Tapestry of West Sumatra (Dekranas, 2019) was ranked second in the list of Best Book Award (Anugerah Buku, Pustaka) in the category Handicraft 2020 organized by the National Library of Indonesia.
